URANIUM x PIT
URANIUM x PIT is a physics-based chain-reaction roguelike where you fire neutrons into an unstable nuclear core and try to survive the inevitable disaster. Every shot coud level you up or create a nuclear disaster. Your job is to keep the machine alive long enough to level up, grab upgrades, and squeeze out just a little more power before everything goes critical.
It’s dark, crunchy, retro arcade inspired experience.
Gameplay
-
Fire neutrons at uranium to trigger chain reactions
-
Generate energy to level up and unlock upgrades
-
Watch the heat climb with every collision
-
Drop control rods to suppress runaway reactions
-
Balance chaos and control to push one more level
-
Survive as long as the reactor lets you
A single bad shot can unravel everything.
A single good one can light up the entire core.
Features
-
Physics-driven neutrons and chain reactions
-
Roguelite progression with multiple upgrade paths
-
Heat vs. energy dual resource system
-
Meltdown countdowns and emergency saves
-
Dark retro CRT-inspired UI aesthetic
-
Playable in browser or standalone Windows build
Note from the Dev
Made in one week for Godot Wild Jam #87 — and I’m very proud of how it turned out :D
I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed building it.
Please share your feedback… and tell me your high score! Dev high score (without cheating) is level 97.
Note: There is a setting in the options to turn off failure state if you just wanna play with the systems

I really liked it but I lost quite early because the stinkiness of the dog in the intro distracted me too much
At level 40 my reactor was running safe and cold no need for rods.
Gr8 game
At some point, it's less "Lower the control rods to decrease the rate of reaction." and more "The control rods separate the reaction into chambers. Do not let them all activate at once." I ended up messing up and activating them all, but late enough in the game that I'm producing negligible heat. I have invented the cold nuke.
Edit: Increasing the size of the neutrons made it so the reactions can finally be stopped. But they can also no longer be contained by the control rods. So I'm just setting off a cold nuke every time I fire, even with all the control rods down.
thank you for the feedback! for this early prototype I focused on the earlier part of the game but plan to look at how to make the scale better
Pretty sure that around Lv. 150 I was causing multiple containment breaches...lol great beginning though.
thank you for playing! I definitely plan to address the scaling
WELL DONE LAD!
fun
thank you <3
Beat the game! Could have gone on forever but it was running at 1 frame every 2 seconds at this point and I decided to call it quits.
Quick guide: Go for 100% increased base reaction energy early while the reactions are still controllable (If you need cooling at this point, go for increasing the meltdown threshold, it will give you more wiggle room for temps and let you use the control rods more easily). This will give you a shit ton of levels really quickly, then just buy the -5% reaction temp upgrade 20 times and you're free to raise the control rods. There. You beat the game!
thank you for playing :D
further scaling and performance will definitely be a focus in any future work on the game! hope it was a good taste for a prototype
Might be good to have a stats section somewhere so players can see what the cooling rate, heat per reaction, special atom spawn rates etc. are.
yeah this was something i wanted to get to but didn' quite have time in the end. If i continue with the project that will be part of it for sure! thank you for playing
Great game! Though without meta progression its just a roguelike, not roguelite.
thank you for playing! and good point, I have updated the page to correct it :D
